Meet Derek Wise, MA LCPC

As a therapist, I am dedicated to helping my clients heal and grow through evidence-based therapeutic methods. My approach begins by creating a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and respected. Together, we will explore your unique thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and implement practical strategies to bring about meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to empower you to become the person you want to be and live life to its fullest.

I am a Certified EMDR clinician and have extensive experience working with issues such as complex PTSD, anxiety, OCD, and relationship problems. Additionally, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness.

I believe that each person is unique, with their own set of needs, personality, preferences, and perspectives. I offer empathy, compassion, and expert guidance as we work towards healing and restoration. If you are considering therapy or want to learn more about what it might involve, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am here to help in any way that I can.

Anxiety can be expected in stressful situations such as public speaking or taking a test. Anxiety is only an indicator of an underlying issue when feelings become excessive, all-consuming, and interfere with daily living

Trauma causes the brain to become over-aroused and active. It’s a natural response to perceived threats, but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy
